Duties of the Equal Opportunity Cell:
- Promote awareness about the importance of equal opportunities and non-discrimination.
- Organize programs, workshops, and campaigns to sensitize individuals about diversity, inclusion, and equality.
- Receive complaints related to discrimination or harassment based on caste, gender, disability, religion, or any other discriminatory grounds.
- Investigate complaints and resolve disputes by taking appropriate action or recommending disciplinary measures if needed.
- Provide guidance and support to students, employees, or members from disadvantaged backgrounds (e.g., SC/ST, OBC, women, disabled persons, minorities).
- Ensure that policies and programs cater to the needs of these groups and remove barriers to their participation.
- Suggest policies and initiatives that promote equality and address systemic discrimination.
- Monitor the implementation of these policies to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Identify and facilitate the disbursement of scholarships, financial assistance, or other support for economically disadvantaged or marginalized students.
- Organize training programs aimed at fostering an inclusive environment, addressing biases, and providing skill-building opportunities for underrepresented groups.
- The EOC has the authority to investigate complaints of discrimination or harassment within the organization, gathering relevant facts and evidence.
- It can recommend corrective actions or measures to address grievances, such as disciplinary actions or changes to existing policies.
